Our research group met on April 18, 2018 to discuss four questions related to Learning Analytics:

Question 1 – What is unique about Learning Analytics (LA) with respect to Academic Analytics (AA), Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS), Educational Data Mining (EDM), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Data Science (DS)?  

Question 2 – How do you see Learning Analytics transforming contemporary practices of education now, in the next 5 years and in the next 10 years?  

Question 3 – What are the challenges (technical, theoretical, and practical) faced by the field of Learning Analytics as it approaches higher education reforms?  

Question 4 – What are some of the key research questions you would like learning analytics to solve in the near future?
